Who is The Wood Nook?

The Wood Nook is a family owned and operated custom wood shop founded by Duane and Liz Sousa of Englewood Florida. They build their product line one item at a time in their woodshop at their home. Quality and craftmanship are number one priorities - every item made with American grown wood - and all childrens products are finished with safe, non-toxic finishes - keeping your little ones safety first and foremost. Their products are built to last a lifetime, and they stand behind their work.

How long does it take to ship?

Typically your item will ship in 1 to 2 weeks, depending on stock and customization requests. Custom orders may take longer depending on product ordered. Items are shipped via UPS Ground unless you request otherwise. The Wood Nook is always willing to work with you and do their best to accomodate special orders.

Is Customization more expensive?

Not always. If you are asking for your child's name, birthdate, etc. there is no extra charge. Most custom color request are also at no extra charge. Engraving also in most cases is free. The Wood Nook does their best to make your purchase a special one at a minimum cost to you. Custom sizing would incur extra cost, based on cost of materials but they do their very best to keep pricing at a minimum. They encourage customers to contact them directly so any questions, concerns or special requests can be addressed in a timely manner for the customer.

What is The Wood Nook's Return Policy?

If an item is received damaged in shipping, The Wood Nook will gladly replace it with like once the damaged item is returned. If the item ordered is not what you expected, The Wood Nook will reimburse the customer for the item, but the customer will still be charged shipping and a 25% re-stocking fee. Custom orders are non-refundable.

What Makes an item "Handcrafted"?

All Wood Nook products are literally made by the hands of Duane and Liz Sousa - there is no "Mass production". For that very reason each and every item is truly unique and will vary slightly in wood color, weight, etc. Custom orders are really designed by the customer and The Wood Nook - making your special order "one of a kind".
